Privacy Policy
BERNi is a trip planning and packing app made by WERKSBERNA Ventures Ltd. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we do not run ads, we do not use analytics or tracking, and we never sell your data.
Who we are
WERKSBERNA Ventures Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17184230), registered office: The Treadmill, Railway Road, Sheerness ME12 1PU, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the information described below. Contact: contact@werksberna.com.
What we collect
- Account information. Your email address and a password (or your Google or Apple sign-in credential) used to create and secure your account. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication and are never visible to us in plain text.
- Your content. The trips, moments, items, packing lists and notes you create, and the photos you add to your items.
- Purchase status. If you subscribe to BERNi Pro, we receive confirmation of your subscription status. Payment itself is handled entirely by Apple; we never see your card details.
That is the full list. BERNi does not collect your location, contacts, browsing history or device identifiers for advertising, and contains no analytics or tracking SDKs.
How we use it
Solely to provide the app: signing you in, storing and displaying your trips and photos, generating your packing lists, showing weather for your trip dates, and operating your subscription. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling or marketing, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers below.
Where it lives
Your data is stored with Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage), primarily in Google's London region (europe-west2). Apple processes subscription payments. When BERNi Pro subscriptions are active we use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and data processing terms.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. Deleting your account (Settings, Delete account, inside the app) permanently removes your trips, items, photos and the account itself from our systems. This is immediate and cannot be undone.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you have rights of access, correction, deletion, portability and objection. Most of these you can exercise directly in the app (your data is yours to edit or delete at any time). For anything else, email contact@werksberna.com and we will respond promptly. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
BERNi is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the current version will always be at this address with an updated date above.
